it’s wednesday night and I’m talking about leaving i’ve been here a few times before the only thing that i believe in is on the other side of the door
chorus:
she said go as you are but don’t come back the same if you don’t get too far you got no one to blame no one
the lights are bright on the marquee they flash green blue to red i buy another round from the bar keep and it’s gone straight to my head
chorus:
he said go as you are but don’t come back the same if you don’t get too far you got no one to blame
everyone’s got a story with no reason for all their rhyme but for just a few pounds of glory i can’t justify all the time
chorus:
but go as you are but don’t come back the same if you don’t get too far you got no one to blame
Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
